The Boy Scouts of America have announced that they are presenting a proposal that would lift the ban on gay youths.

The proposal to lift the ban would be only for gay youths wanting to join the Boy Scouts, it would not change the ban on homosexual men serving as scout leaders.

The proposed resolution states, "No youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of America on the basis of sexual orientation or preference alone."

"America needs Scouting, and our policies must be based on what is in the best interest of our kids," said Perry. "We believe good people can disagree and still work together to accomplish great things for youth."                                       -National President Wayne Perry

Some of the key players backing the proposal include: President Obama, Mitt Romney, several US Senators and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
