Yesterday was one of those winter storms we won't soon forget. There are still people without power this morning and battling to stay warm and heat themselves along with their morning coffee. My drive home yesterday after work was one of the most frightening drives I have ever taken. I was terrified the whole way home. The roads were a mess, the power was going out everywhere as power lines were falling, trees were falling and transformers were blowing. Today is new day but some thank you's are in order.

A big thank you to all the road crews who worked endlessly to make the roads as drive-able as possible. Thank you to the power company workers who have been working their tails off to restore power to all those effected. Thank you to the police and rescue workers who were there to help those in need and stayed out in full force. Thank you the workers who removed the fallen trees and debris. Thank you to the workers who made it in to their jobs so we could get our medicines and essentials to get through the storm. Thank you to the kind pedestrians who helped their friends and neighbors in need yesterday and a big thank you to my coworkers who all braved the conditions to get here and tell you to stay home. We have an amazing community and our spirit comes alive in adverse conditions. I am proud to live in northern Colorado. Well done gang.
