The Concert Series begins on Friday, June 24 with Country stars Rodney Atkins and Little Big Town. Since being named the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Male Vocalist in 2006, Atkins has scored five #1 singles including “If You’re Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows),” “Watching You,” and “It’s America.” His latest release, “Farmer’s Daughter” was a Top Five hit. Country quartet Little Big Town will open for Atkins. Little Big Town’s four part vocal harmonies have garnered the group comparisons to Fleetwood Mac. The band is best known for songs such as “Boondocks,” “Bring It On Home,” and “Little White Church.”

Country legend Clint Black will headline a show on Saturday, June 25, along with newcomer Josh Kelley.  Clint Black ruled the Country music charts during the 1990s, with 27 Top Ten hits including “A Better Man,“ “When My Ship Comes In”, “Like the Rain,” and many more.  He has continued to make music during the last decade, but has also delved into acting, appearing in several movies and TV shows. He was also a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice. Opener Josh Kelley is new to country music, but his first single, “Georgia Clay,” is climbing the charts. Kelley began his music career making Pop-Rock records, and also had some success in that format with his song, “Amazing.”

Chris Young and Steel Magnolia will be featured on Friday, July 1. These acts are both rising stars on the Country scene and both got their start competing in television talent search programs. Chris Young won Nashville Star in 2006 and Steel Magnolia won season two of Can You Duet in 2009. Young has produced three Top Ten hits: “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song),” “The Man I Want to Be,” and the current hit, “Voices.” Steel Magnolia consists of boyfriend-girlfriend duo Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones. Their debut album (just released) debuted at #3 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and they have already scored a hit song in 2010 with “Keep on Lovin’ You.”

Classic rockers Cheap Trick and Blue Oyster Cult will close out the Concert Series on Saturday, July 2. Cheap Trick has toured almost continuously for four decades and still sounds as great as they did in the 1970s. The band cranks out new Power Pop rockers alongside their greatest hits such as “Surrender,” “I Want You to Want Me,” “Dream Police,” and 1980’s power ballad, “The Flame.” Blue Oyster Cult will open the show with such memorable songs from the ‘70s and ‘80s as “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and “Burnin’ For You.”
