March 10, 2012 Two local teams advanced last night in their conference tournaments. One did not. The CU Buffs men's basketball team advanced the Pac-12 Championship last night and the UNC Lady Bears advanced to Big Sky Championship. The CSU men were bounced from the Mountain West Tournament last night by top-seeded San Diego State.
March 9, 2012 The CU Buffs and CSU Rams are both one step closer to the Big Dance. Both men's basketball teams won last night in their conference tournaments. Colorado State will play in the Semi-Final of the Mountain West Tournament tonight the University of Colorado will play in the Semi-Finals of the Pac-12 Tournament tonight!
It's tournament time for college basketball. The Mountain West, Big Sky, and Pac 12 tournaments are all being held this week. The CSU Rams men's team and the CU men are both considered bubble teams for making the Big Dance, so they both need to win at least a game or two or three in their conference tournaments.
There was more than just madness in Northern Colorado last March when the Northern Colorado Bears made it into the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history, proving this region does love their college basketball. Unfortunately though, after losing key players and quite a few games so far this season, it doesn't look like UNC will return to the dance. Look just to the north though, and you'll find a Colorado State team that look like they may bring some excitement to the area this year.

March 3, 2011 The UNC Bears men's basketball team wrapped up its first Big Sky Conference championship last night with an 84-54 win over Sacramento State at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion. The Bears finished a game ahead of Montana in this year's Big Sky regular-season race and earned their first conference crown in 21 seasons.
