My list of pet peeves is probably too long but nothing bugs me more than the person who thinks they are above the law when it comes to parking in a handicap parking spot. Especially when the person breaking the law...is the law.
I see a lot of things during the course of a day and all the news I have to sift through but I'm not sure I have ever seen anything like this. If I didn't know any better I would say this cop has an issue with roid rage possibly?
National Night Out is one of the most innovative programs ever. The best part of the event is the connections made in your own neighborhoods. You don't have to be best friends with your neighbor, although it sure would be nice if you were, but in reality sometimes that doesn't happen. If for no other reason, it's a great way to familiarize yourself with your neighbors-this is good for numerous reason. (like who is suppose to be there and who shouldn't be in your neighborhood, remember it takes a village)
The human being is an amazing creature no matter how you slice it up. I wrote a story last week (Click here to read it) about a little boy who was trying to replace a police department patch collection he had that honored his fallen uncle who was a police officer. Mother Nature would have other plans as his collection was destroyed in their family home, along with 500 others in the Black Forest Fire outside Colorado Springs. What has happened since that story is one of the most amazing things I have seen in a long time.
The Blue Knights Colorado IX of Greeley will be hosting a fundraiser and poker run this Saturday to honor those who have lost their lives in the line of duty and will donate all monies to the Colorado chapter of C.O.P.S.
I wrote a story yesterday about a boy in Colorado Springs who was trying to replace a police department patch collection lost in the recent Black Forest Fire that honored his Uncle, not his Father, who lost his life in the line of duty.
The Black Forest Fire has done more damage in a week then we care to think about but when a fire destroys a home, the actual home is the last thing on someone's mind. Many things can be replaced, some can't and some need help replacing memories and futures.
