Ask music lovers to name the greatest female country singer of all time and I am guessing that the majority would say Patsy Cline. Patsy had a relatively short career but made such a huge impact with her style and sound. Who will ever forget "Walking After Midnight" "She's Got You" or "Crazy"?

Some of the most well-known country songs never reached No. 1. Heck, a few didn't even break the Billboard Top 40.

While many consider Patsy Cline the greatest female country singer of all time she actually only had two number one hits on the Billboard country charts. You may surprised to know that "Crazy" was not one of them and neither was "Walkin' After Midnight".

It was on this date in 1932 that the voice of an angel was planted on this earth. Patsy Cline, who's real name was Virginia Hensley, was born in Winchester, Virginia.
