Las Vegas hotel developer Steve Wynn let it slip in an interview recently that Garth Brooks has some big plans for 2014. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Brooks will perform his first world tour in 16 years that year. News of the upcoming gig came out when Wynn mentioned publicly that Brooks is "itching to get started on a world tour."

Garth Brooks was awarded $1 million in his lawsuit against a hospital in his native Oklahoma. The lawsuit came about to due a dispute over a donation in exchange for naming a wing of the facility after his late mother. Even though Brooks likely doesn’t need the money as one of the most successful country stars ever, it was a matter of principle for him — and the jury agreed. The $1 million includes his original donation, plus punitive damages, according to Reuters.
Garth Brooks is learning the hard way that no good deed goes unpunished. The Oklahoma native is set to appear in a courtroom in Rogers County today (Jan. 17) to face an aging lawsuit over a donation he made to a local hospital. The long-lingering suit is finally going to trial with jury selection scheduled to take place in the early part of the afternoon.
Garth Brooks is currently playing a string of dates at the Las Vegas’ Wynn Casino, which run through February, but don’t expect him to take his show on the road for a full tour just yet. The 49-year-old country music icon won’t be coming out of retirement, at least until his youngest daughter graduates from college in 2014.
