Some years I have a really great Christmas and some years it blows. I love the sentiment of the season and how happy people seem, but behind closed doors when hunger and anticipation sets in, well... it can be a bit much.

I was thinking this morning of a few fond childhood Christmas stories {not like the rest are horror stories mind you} that made me actually LOL and I thought they might be fun to write down and share.  I plead the 5th right now and hope not to incriminate myself but I may feel better in the long run.  It is Christmas after all and we all have those great stories.  Since I am 99.1% sure my kids will never read this here are 3 of mine.

I love most breakfast meats but will always have bacon on my plate. I love bacon, I even have a system. I eat three of the four pieces typically served with my eggs and the last piece gets wrapped into on toast triangle-yum!

I don't eat tater tots very often but when I do I love them. I love them smothered in ketchup and dressed in cheese. I love tater tots buried in hamburger with corn and a top my favorite hot dishes. One of the most asked recipe questions for me any time of year and especially during the holidays is "What kind of side dishes can I make". Let me introduce you to my little friend the tater tot.

I am pretty sure that I have mentioned this once or twice, but Christmas eve at our house is casual with a light dinner and lots of presents. Every year I try to make something fun or order out. This year I will likely make pizza surprise.

Far be it for me to leave cheese out of Christmas. Give me a cheese ball, a cheese platter or a cheese sandwich and I'm happy. I am sure though that you will tell me none of my happy choices amount to a very good meal at Christmas and maybe I might just agree. so I guess we're going to have to get our cheese on in another way... let's hit the kitchen and see what's in store for our table.

The best way to share time and stories with friends and family is over a good plate of food and the twelve days of Christmas are full of great dishes.
