This years 28 Hours of Hope was unforgettable in so many ways. We ended up raising over $132,000 which broke last years record by just about a grand. I didn't expect to reach last years total but was so elated when we got the total.
Where do I start to say thank you for the 28 Hours of Hope? This was the biggest year yet as we raised well over last years total of $131,000. I am so blown away. The artists who called in were amazing. I loved getting to talk to so many stars who really understood what we were trying to do.
Susan Moore has a bit of a reputation for injuring herself during the 28 Hours of Hope, particularly following her injury last year. With that in mind, one of our volunteers made her a jacket out of bubble wrap to keep her protected.
Frankie Ballard called into the 28 Hours of Hope and talked to Brian and Todd about how his career really escalated after he cut his hair. He also shared what it's like to have a song hit No. 1 on the charts.
Country music legend Dean Dillon, who has written hits for artists like George Strait, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney and more, called in to the 17th Annual 28 Hours of Hope — and said he couldn't have asked for a better birthday present.
