This past weekend my wife and I went to New Orleans for the first time. She has always wanted to go to the "Big Easy" so we had the chance to knock that off her bucket list. A bunch of radio folks invaded New Orleans for a Blaster Records party and we were honored to be a part of it.

We were told of all the great foods we had to try and we did our best to eat them all. We were greeted with beignets from Cafe du Monde which were amazing. We ate jambalaya, gator balls and everything else you would expect from New Orleans. I was told the food was amazing and it sure was. You need to wear stretch pants when you are there.

The streets are filled with tourists and locals all having a party. We were there when the Santa Crawl was happening and there were hundreds of people dressed as Santa having some Christmas cheer. These folks know how to have a good time.

The highlight for us was hitting the House of Blues to see Montgomery Gentry. Eddie and Troy were unreal. They sounded better than I have ever heard them. What a killer show!

We got to hang out with some great people like recently retired country radio legend Coyote Calhoun. Here is my friend Chris Matthews from Phoenix and I with Coyote.

I even ran into Chuck Wicks of "Stealing Cinderlla" fame and had a great visit with him too.

We wife was even almost eaten by an alligator in a gift shop.

We had a fantastic time and I promise you we will make another trip to this great city.

Check out the latest single from Montgomery Gentry.
