The Fern Lake Fire in Rocky Mountain National Park continues to smolder after 2 to 4 inches of snow fell on it. The fire is now 1,030 acres and about 17% contained.  However, the wintry conditions gave firefighters a day away from the fire yesterday. There are currently 36 people involved with fighting the blaze. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
