Six Acre Fire Started by Irresponsible Shooters on Pawnee National Grassland

At least a dozen fires have been started on the Pawnee National Grassland east of Fort Collins in 2012. For some reason people keep forgetting that we are in the middle of a drought and the grass is dry and a single spark from bullet can start a fire. Most recently, the Coal 5 Fire burned six acres on the Grassland in an area popular with recreational shooters. The fire started approximately 12:30 p.m. yesterday.
You should be aware of all regulations regarding recreational shooting and other activities before heading out. Pay close attention to the specific target regulations on the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland:
