The scary big blue horse with glowing red eyes that welcomes you to Denver's airport has been at D.I.A for 5 years. now, for the 1st time, the statue could be removed.  According to 9News, The 5-year anniversary of  the statue called El Mesteno is Monday, February 11th.  In Denver, petitions to remove art works aren't accepted for the first five years. It's a rule meant to avoid tearing down controversial art too quickly.

The 32-foot-tall fiber glass and steel statue of a blue mustang with glowing eyes was sculpted by artist Luis Jimenez and installed at the entrance to the Denver International Airport in February of 2008. Add this to the creepy factor: The statue actually killed its own sculptor. A large portion of El Mesteno fell on Jimenez while it was being moved,  crushing him to death.

It's blue horse is probably the most controversial piece of art that the Front Range has ever seen.  Either you love it or hate it. I can't stand it. It honestly scares the crap out of me, especially at night. What do you think.  Does it need to go? Answer our web question please.
