Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina Debut on Billboard Hot 100

For Scotty McCreery, it was close, but not close enough.
The ‘American Idol’ season 10 winner’s debut single, ‘I Love You This Big,’ failed to crack the top 10 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart, instead coming in at number 11.
Still, it wasn’t all bad news for the 17-year-old country crooner. He debuted significantly higher than last year’s ‘Idol’ winner, Lee DeWyze, whose ‘Beautiful Day’ cover came in at a dismal 24. McCreery also spent a good chunk of time last week atop the iTunes singles charts.
Meanwhile, season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina debuted at number 20 with the help of her single, ‘Like My Mother Does.’
