There are some things that are just meant to be. I always thought the voice of John Madden was meant to be the soundtrack of football. Vin Scully will always be the voice of baseball to me and there is no doubt that when you think of the sound of rodeo, you think of Hadley Barrett. The sight of Hadley calling a rodeo like in the photo above, is what every rodeo I have ever seen looked like. I can't imagine a rodeo without Hadley, but now will have to. The rodeo world and the rest of the world for that matter, lost a treasure yesterday with the death of Hadley Barrett. Hadley was 87 years old.

I have not met a better man in my years of broadcasting. Hadley always had a smile, a kind word and a story for anyone who had the pleasure of crossing his path. The sound of rodeo will never be the same. Hadley had the love and respect of every cowboy and cowgirl on the circuit and every fan as well. He was always so kind to the Good Morning Guys and went out of his way to always make us feel welcome and appreciated. Thank you for all you did for the sport of rodeo and for the communities you touched. You will never ever be forgotten Hadley. You were one in a billion. We already miss.you. Good ride cowboy, good ride.
