There's just something about bacon that makes a dad's head tilt to the side. Some might go as far as saying that if you wrapped a "yard nugget" in bacon that dad would gobble it up. I'm not sure I buy that, unless you deep fry it too, but there are no "yard nugget's" in these dad day idea's. There are so many thing's that you can do with bacon as it blends perfectly with many foods and sits perfectly tasty all by itself. Today, we're just throwing around ways to incorporate bacon into dad's special weekend meals.

What You'll Need:

1 lb ground beef
8 slices of bacon, uncooked
4 Slices Extra Sharp Cheddar
D's seasoning blend
(equal parts garlic powder,
season all and ground pepper)

3 good baking potatoes, quarted
4 slices of bacon, cooked
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup shredded colby-jack blend
2 green onions, chopped

1 Lb deli turkey 1/4" thick, cubed
6 pieces bacon, cooked
1 avocado, chopped
2 roma tomatoes, chopped
1/2 cup shredded
1/2 cup mayo
1 Tbsp lemon juice
s/p
bread bowl

1 Lb pork tenderloin
4 pieces bacon
1/2 oil olive
1 tsp each oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme
pepper
1 Tbsp lemon juice

Putting It All Together:

form 4 patties
blend bacon and onions into
a patty and stick to the
bottom of each burger,
put burgers on hot grill
pan bacon side down and
top with a cookie sheet
place a couple of unopened
cans on top of the cookie sheet
for weight.
let burgers cook like this for
about five minutes. carefully
remove cans and cookie sheet,
season patties and flip. when
they have reached desire doneness,
about another five minutes, top
with cheese and turn heat off.

preheat oven to 425

simple loaded 'tato-skin'

tato skin
loading...

boil potatoes with skin on
till fork tender, drain and
lightly mash, squash them
once or twice each with a fork or
potato masher, we're not making
mashed potatoes.add milk and
stir lightly then place potatoes on
cookie sheet, cook for 5-7 minutes
top with bacon and cheese and cook
for another 3 minutes or until
cheese is melted
top with sour cream and green onions

'unmanned' turkey sandwich bowl

combine all ingredients well and
put in bread bowl. serve with bread
pieces from the inside of bread bowl
or your favorite cracker

preheat grill

place tenderloin in a zip lock baggie
with oil, lemon juice and seasonings.
put in fridge for 30 minutes.

wrap tenderloin in bacon and
grill slowly on medium heat
till the internal temp hits 145
