Recipe Rescue: Twelve Days of Christmas in Food
What better way to count down the time to Christmas than with food? Savory food, sweet food... dishes on the side and dishes to sink your teeth in till the new year. The best way to share time and stories with friends and family is over a good plate of food and the twelve days of Christmas are full of great dishes.
Let's start with a standard dish in my house every Christmas day, Asparagus.
What You'll Need:
2 bunches of asparagus
1 whole lemon
coarse salt
Putting It All Together:
start the asparagus off in a hot pan with a little olive oil shake the pan or use tongs
to coat the asparagus with the oil and let cook 3 minutes then turn them cook for another
three minutes, turn down the heat add a Tbsp of water and the juice of one lemon, cover and
cook for another 3-7 minutes depending on how tender you like your asparagus-I always make ours
kind of crunchy, mushy asparagus is not yummy to me. Happy Holidays!
