My husband is from Nebraska and there are two thing's we HAVE to do when we go home to visit family. We have to have Runza (yes, I know that we have Runza in Colorado) and we have to have Lil' Kings Sub Sandwiches. Check this Kraut Burger Casserole out... way easier than the time my sister in-law made them from scratch, she was so grumpy during the rolling stage..... LOL (she'll likely kill me for that)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Half a head of cabbage (unless you love love love cabbage add a little more-but pre-cook it or it'll be soggy), 1 can cream of chicken soup, 1 can cheddar cheese soup, 1 pound of hamburger, I onion (diced) 2 pkgs of crescent rolls

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER:

roll out a pkg of crescent rolls and put in a greased baking dish. Mix together the cream of chicken soup, cooked cabbage and browned hamburger and onion, you can do this in the pan so that the soup warms up and mixes better (don't forget a little salt and pepper), top the hamburger mixture with the cheddar cheese soup, don't mix it in just spread on top, now take the second pkg of crescent rolls, roll them out, while leaving the triangles in tact, just like before and place on top of the cheddar cheese layer. Bake at 350 degrees uncovered until the 'crust' is browned and he dish is bubbly.
