I am calling this foolish goulash because of my James. He actually said that my goulash was now better than my fried chicken, my signature dish! What was he thinking to mutter such words? At the end of the meal, I have to admit, there was a certain something about this dish. I know that makes little sense, but even the pickiest eaters amongst the crowd devoured it. So before you start gnawing on the keyboard let's get in the kitchen and start cooking.

What You'll Need:

1 lb ground beef
3 carrots, shredded
3 stalks of celery, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup beef broth, low sodium
16 ounces tomato sauce
a splash of worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp butter, unsalted
1 can condensed tomato soup
a firm squeeze of ketchup
1 Tbsp paprika
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp season all
1 lb elbow macaroni

Putting It All Together:

brown hamburger meat in 1 Tbsp butter,
while browning add seasoning's, half of
the celery, onion and carrots once the
meat is nearly cooked add in the beef
broth, ketchup, tomato soup, half of the
tomato soup, the worcestershire sauce and
the rest of the veggies. let simmer for
10-15 minutes, in the meantime make your
elbow macaroni per the package directions,
be sure to reserve the pasta water.
add the pasta to the "sauce" and fold
the noodles onto themselves until they are
well coated. slowly add in the remaining
tomato sauce and 2 ladles of the reserved
pasta water. (I say slowly, because this
shouldn't be soupy so if it looks like it
is getting too 'sloppy' do not add anymore
liquid)

serve with hot bread and extra sharp shredded
cheddar cheese on top* optional
