When it's this cold outside, we something that will stick to our bones and help generate some inner heat. This recipe is quick and easy, dinner will be on the table in about an hour with plenty of time in between for you to start the laundry and solve y=mx+b. WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

1 lb of stew meat, 1Tbs butter/1Tbs oil, 1/2 cup of flour, 4 carrots chopped, 3 medium potatoes chopped, 3-4 ribs of celery chopped, s/p to taste, one beer (not dark an heavy and not light) a large beef broth (the big one or two smaller ones), a splash or two of water and a can of V-8 Juice (the straight up original-no fancy schmancy stuff here)

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER:

Toss the stew meat in the flour and then add to a dutch oven with heated butter and oil, brown the meat pieces on all sides then add the beer, stir till the bits or released from the bottom of the pan, add the veggies, beef broth, V8 and the water. Stir till all ingredients are mix together, if you need more liquid add another can of V8. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes to an hour. Stir once or twice while cooking. **optional last minute add in, half a bag of frozen peas, no need to defrost.

Serve with a hearty rusty crusty bread and Enjoy!
