Thursday night (July 26th) it's our Make It Rain benefit concert- a FREE concert where we will be taking your donations to help the victims of the High Park Fire in Northern Colorado and to help the fire agencies that responded to the blaze.

We are not allowed to announce our FEATURED headliner for the night until Thursday itself- but we are more than pleased that Steve Holy came on board from the get-go!  A great guy with a great voice!

Have you ever watched the CMA awards and wished you could be there in the audience? I have had the honor of winning one of those bad boys and got to sit in the crowd and watch the show. I am a huge music freak and it was the biggest thrill of my life as a fan. The awards shows are the greatest concerts you will ever see. All of your favorite artists on one stage for one show and you could be there.

So many people were affected by the High Park Fire. Dr. Laurie Goodrich and her husband Jim are survivors of the fire. Thankfully, they didn't lose their home, but they did go through an incredible ordeal.  Dr. Goodrich originally shared her story with her co-workers at CSU.  My wife received that e-mail and shared it with me. It brought tears to my eyes.  I asked Dr. Goodrich if I could share it with you and she said, "Yes".

No matter what tragedy takes place, it seems like the Country Music community always steps up to help those in need, and the High Park Fire is no exception. Larimer County Officials are easing up a bit on fire restrictions and they plan to hold a meeting for those that lost their home in the High Park Fire.  Contained open fires are now allowed in the unincorporated areas of Larimer County. This means fires in camp stoves and grills using gas or pressurized liquid or those in permanently constructed, stationary, metal or masonry fireplaces such as those fireplaces located in campgrounds and masonry or metal fire pits. Please keep in mind that there is still no open burning and no use fireworks is allowed.

The High Park Fire is 100% contained, but the fire is still smoldering  in some areas and there are still some closures in effect. A closure order remains in effect on a portion of the Roosevelt National Forest west of Fort Collins.

You will not need a ticket, just show up. The event will start at 5 p.m. on the lawn behind the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland.
