This morning Drew from our sister station 99.9 The Point brought coffee into my studio from a new coffee shop in Severance. I'm pretty picky and skeptical over new drinks, especially coffee - but I decided to give it a try.

After the first sip of this coffee, I was hooked.

The Jitter Bean, a drive-thru coffee shop with the most adorable name, opened in Severance after the owners realized there was a coffee void in town that needed to be filled.

"Everyone (in town) wanted one, but they didn't want a chain," says Kristin Bunday, who owns The Jitter Bean with Scott Bunday.

To keep the shop local, Kristin and Scott made a conscious effort to sell a variety of options for prices lower than chains like Starbucks and the Human Bean. The staff is also local to the area, including 2 of the Bundays' daughters, a high school student, a college student, and a local mom.

I think their coffee is amazing. It was made to taste EXACTLY the way I like my coffee to taste - sweet with no bitter after taste. I usually don't drink coffee, but when I do, it's made with almond milk and loaded with Splenda (yes, I know that will kill me). I give The Jitter Bean 5 out of 5 stars!

The Jitter Bean is located at 2 Timber Ridge Parkway, and operates Monday through Friday 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
