I have been thinking about this a lot since the verdict came down in the Aurora theater shooting trial. The death penalty is so controversial that maybe we need another alternative. In my mind, if there was ever a clear cut case to use the death penalty, if it is legal in the state, it was the theater shooting trial. What more could a person do to deserve the harshest punishment on our books?

I know there are many many people who feel that taking a life for taking a life doesn't solve anything and I get that, but I am a Charles Bronson kind of guy who would rather that we got to handle these people instead of the justice system.

I feel if there is a case like the Aurora one where the guilt is not in question or trials where children or women are abused or worse, we should not send these violators to prison for life but instead we should broadcast the time and place of their release and set them free into the public and let the masses deal with them. I think they would have a very difficult time getting through the crowd if you know what I mean. I believe that this would be a huge deterrent to crime and would have more of an impact than a lifetime behind bars. Call me barbaric but I am Brian Gary and I support this message.
