Mountain Lion Attacks Another Dog Over the Weekend

Animal experts warn pet owners in the foothills to keep a lookout for mountain lions. There was another attack over the weekend. The victim was a 70-pound Labrador attacked in the backyard of it’s home in Kittredge, about 25 miles south west of Denver. The dog has received medical care, including several stitches and is expected to recover. Its owner fired a gun to scare the cat away. A beagle named Lucy was attacked a few days ago in Evergreen when a mountain lion jumped over a fence, grabbed her and dragged her behind a tree. Lucy’s recovering, thankfully. There have been at least eight Cougar attacks this year. Colorado Parks and Wildlife says they do not plan on taking any action other than alerting the public of the concern. They also say mountain lions are extremely unlikely to attack people.
