I am so blessed. I already have the most wonderful family and now it has grown by one. I am proud to introduce my granddaughter Kirzi Dawnn. She was 7 lbs 2 ounces and 20 inches long. She was born at 7:55 p.m Monday the 11th at Wray Community District Hospital. I haven't quit tearing up since.

This place took great care of all of us. They were just amazing and made it so comfortable for all of us. The whole stay could not have gone any better. Nick and Kia were just champions through the whole thing and I couldn't have been more proud of the both of them.

The family was all gathered in the waiting room down the hall as Kia, her best friend, her mom and my son were in the birthing room. We had the volume on the TV turned down and were listening intently for the sound of a baby screaming. There were a couple times we thought we heard the scream of a new born and would send one of us down the hall to see if the miracle had happened yet only to find out it was Kia screaming. We would giggle and continue to wait.

Finally at 7:55 it happened and the room was filled with cheering and tears as we gathered in the hallway in front of the door waiting to get the official word. We entered the room and I immediately fell in love. To see this beautiful little miracle in person just melted me. What a blessing a child is. I immediately had a change of mindset and realized what is really important in life. It isn't deadlines and making sure your work life is in order it is family and our personal lives that really matter. I needed that and Kirzi gave me that gift within a minute of her birth. As a father there is nothing more heartwarming than watching your child become a parent. Kirzi melted the minute my son spoke to her. She had a look like "this is the voice I have been hearing." It was priceless to get to witness.

I am so overjoyed and proud today. My life just got so much better. Thank you Kia for making my son a father and for being the companion and mother a father dreams his son ends up with. I love you all. This is a very lucky child to have the parents, extended family and community she is surrounded with. I am blessed beyond words.
