Wellington’s mayor has resigned. He didn't get run out of town or anything. He just got a new job and moved.

According to the Coloradoan, Mayor Jack Brinkhoff emailed his resignation to the Board of Trustees last week, because of the new job and he bought a home in LaPorte. Jack told me this morning that he is working for Graves Land and Cattle. They support Morning Fresh Dairy and Noosa Yogurt.

The Wellington Board of Trustees voted 5-1 to appoint Mayor Pro Tem Tim Singewald to fill Brinkhoff's position as mayor. The board also selected trustee Travis Harless to fill Singewald's former spot as mayor pro tem.

The town will put out a call for applications and letters of interest for people who would like to fill the open spot in late November.
