Longs Peak, which is the only "fourteener" in Rocky Mountain National Park in Northern Colorado is home to a major rescue operation right now. 28 team members and rescuers are trying to reach a stranded climber in an "extremely precarious location" approximately 13,000 feet up on the east face of Longs Peak.

Samuel Frappier, who is a 19-year-old from Canada was descending from the summit of Longs Peak Tuesday afternoon when he became stranded. To make matters worse, Frappier has no technical climbing equipment, is an inexperienced mountaineer, and was not prepared to stay the night where there is still significant snow.

Along with the crew of 28 members, there is a helicopter on the scene, and another one on the way that may be options for rescuing Frappier.
