Loveland Police Investigate Dead Body near Fairgrounds Park – UPDATE
The man found dead Wednesday afternoon at Fairgrounds Park in Loveland has been identified. The body of 55-year-old Randy Patterson of Loveland had been there for about a month. He apparently had taken his own life. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, Patterson's body was found near the river in a sleeping bag. Anyone with information about this death is asked to call detective Eric Lintz at 962-2225.
Yesterday afternoon Loveland Police got a report of a decomposing body near Fairgrounds Park. A caller said it appeared to be a transient in a sleeping bag.
Loveland Police Officers responded to the scene and confirmed that the victim was deceased. The cause of death is unknown at this time but Detectives from the Loveland Police Department and the Larimer County Coroner’s Office are investigating. Detectives believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
