Join K99 At The CSU Homecoming Parade Today

The 2011 CSU Homecoming Parade is this afternoon in downtown Fort Collins. The parade begins at 4:30 p.m. on the corner of Oak Street and Howes Street and travels south on Howes through the historical Oval and the heart of campus.   Watch for Good Morning Guy Todd Harding passing out candy to the crowd.  The 2011 Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal is Colorado State University System Chancellor Joe Blake.

The Parade is part of CSU’s Homecoming and family weekend. Here are some of the highlights:

Friday, September 30th

Reunion on the Oval
3 – 4:30 p.m.
Enjoy the festivities on the Oval before the parade begins with entertainment by the band Opie Gone Band, bounce houses, carnival games, and snacks. We’ll also have yearbooks on hand for reminiscing. The event is free and open to the public.

4:30 – 6 p.m.
The biggest parade in town is headed right through the heart of campus!

Pep Rally, Bonfire, Fireworks, and Lighting of the A
Following the parade

The end of the parade serves as the beginning of the Homecoming pep rally where we gear up for the big game on Saturday. Following the rally will be the bonfire, fireworks, and lighting of the A. The event is free and open to the public.

Saturday, October 1st

Homecoming 5K Race
8 – 9:15 a.m.
CSU Oval
The Homecoming Race is an event for the whole family. Both runners and walkers of all ages are welcome to participate in the 5K race around the beautiful CSU campus. Children are invited to take part in the free Kids Fun Run at 9 a.m. led by CAM the Ram. www.hes.cahs.colostate.edu/outreach/homecoming

Homecoming and Family Weekend Tailgate
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Hughes Stadium
Enjoy tailgate fare, music, and Ram pride as you rev up for the big game. Price includes chopped pork or pulled chicken sandwich, sides, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage. Cash bar available. $10 members, $15 nonmembers. Registration required.

Homecoming Football Game: CSU vs. San Jose State
2 p.m.
Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium
Cheer the Rams to a Homecoming victory over San Jose State. Homecoming & Family Weekend game package tickets are sold out, but single game tickets can be purchased at csurams.com
