It is hard to believe it has been 14 years since the Space Shuttle Columbia broke up upon re-entry into the earth's atmosphere. It was a horrible day and we suffered a great loss that day as all seven crew members were killed in the incident.

I have always been fascinated by the space program. One of the greatest trips we ever took as a family when I was growing up was a venture to Houston to see NASA and tour the facility. I was blown away. If you ever get a chance, you must take the tour. I have great respect for the folks involved in that program. Brilliant people.

It is so sad that we have lost several of those brilliant people through the years like we did on that day 14 years ago today when Rick Husband, William McCool, Michael Anderson,Kalpana Chawla, David Brown, Laurel Clark and Ilan Ramon lost their lives doing their jobs. Check out the video of that day as the developments unfolded.
