You ever get behind someone at a stoplight and just by reading the stickers on the bumper and window of the vehicle you know their political party, religious beliefs, hobbies, favorite bands, names of their children and what school they are an honor student at? I must say that I really don't need to know that much about you just sitting in traffic. Social media has turned our lives into a well-stickered vehicle. We seem to have a need to let everyone know everything about us.

I can remember when you kept things to yourself a bit more and it was a good thing. A little mystery about yourself is not bad. We now feel we must share all of our political views and our opinions on everything that happens in the news. There is a lot of wisdom in the old saying "never miss a good opportunity to shut the hell up." That seems to be an art we have completely forgotten. You don't have to let everyone know what you approve and don't approve of. The more things you publicly take a stand on the more things you have to create an argument with someone about. I'm not saying to always keep it to yourself but about half of the stuff we seem to get riled up about could be kept inside for sure. I don't enjoy the heal of a loaf of bread but I am not going to bitch about it on Facebook every day. Sammy Kershaw had a song years ago that spoke about not talking about "politics, religion and her" and I agree. This is just my opinion and if I listen to what I am saying, I probably should've kept it to myself. I am going to do more of that. We aren't as interesting as we seem to think we are.
