I-76 Closed Today (Thursday, May 22) to Remove Bridge Overhang
I'm glad I don't take I-76 to work. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close eastbound and westbound Interstate 76 at State Highway 71 this morning (Thursday, May 22) to allow safe removal of a bridge overhang. Beginning at 8 a.m., all traffic on I-76 will be detoured around the SH 71 interchange (Exit 89) on the exit and entrance ramps. Drivers should anticipate slowing through the area.
The highway is expected to reopen by noon tomorrow. This work is part of the I-76 reconstruction project between Fort Morgan and Brush
