My wife Jenny and I both love almonds and they are supposed to be good for you. Since I have been trying to eat healthier, almonds have become a staple part of my diet and Jenny packs them in my daily snack bag. We have found a way to make almonds taste even better...soy sauce.

If you are a real health nut, you can even find healthy soy sauce that has been produced naturally, unlike most store brands. We started "doctoring" our almonds after we had some at Jenny's Aunt Barbara's house, and they were delicious.

What You Need to Make Soy Sauce Flavored Almonds

  • One package of raw almonds (In this case size doesn't matter.)
  • Soy sauce
  • A cookie sheet
  • Tin Foil
  • A mixing bowl and spoon
  • An oven

How to Flavor Your Almonds With Soy Sauce

  • Set your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cover a cookie sheet with tin foil (For easier cleanup!)
  • Spread the raw almonds evenly on the tin foil
  • Bake in oven for 12 minutes. (The more time, the crispier they are. Don't burn them!)
  • Take them out of the oven and pour them into a mixing bowl. (I would use a hot pad!)
  • Pour the soy sauce over the hot almonds until the liquids stops soaking in
  • Spread the almonds on the cookie sheet again and place back in the oven, which you have turned off.  (This will help them dry faster!)
  • You are done. They are ready to eat as soon as they have cooled enough. Enjoy!
