How Horse People Know Spring is Coming

bewithhorses.comAside from a full choir of Meadowlarks, the sure sign that spring is coming is my
horse Lily shedding out. I don’t know if it’s because she’s white that I notice it with her more than the other horses who are bays. Besides attaching to gloves, coats, and up my nose, the fur means oh-so-soft nests for the new baby birds, residing and pooping everywhere in my barn. My friend and co-worker Brian Gary says HE knows spring is on the way when it ‘smells like worms’ outside. I’m seeing little calves dotting the pastures, a little green peeking up in the tulip bed, and big muddy dog foot prints through out my house. Ah yes, spring is definitely on the way.
