I was driving home to Fort Collins from Greeley last night and was reminded by the flashing sign that Highway 34 would be reduced to one lane in each direction again this weekend.  The sign also reminded me that I should expect delays.  My advice would be avoid Highway 34 completely on Saturday and Sunday.

Westbound US 34 between Larimer Parkway and County Road 3,  east of I-25 will be closed beginning  Saturday, April 21st at 7 a.m. and lasting until Sunday, April 22 at 7 p.m. CDOt is partnering with Union Pacific Railroad to close both westbound lanes for 36 hours this weekend so the railroad company can replace their railroad crossings on US 34. This weekend’s closure will complete the work that began last weekend in the eastbound lanes.

No trucks will be allowed east of I-25 on US 34 to Greeley over the weekend. Truckers will either need to use the next exit to the north (Exit 259) at Crossroads Boulevard, or the next exit to the south (Exit 255) at State Highway 402.
