The Greeley Tribune reports that the concept of an open area is much different than parks where kids play soccer, etc. It takes a different kind of care and thrives in Greeley's natural climate.

Culture, Parks and Recreation employees have been working on writing up a master plan for parks, trails and open lands and looks like it should be approved before the summer. The report found that more than 60 percent of the 700 Greeley residents interviewed said they wanted more open space.

Currently, Greeley has open areas along the Poudre River, to the west in the Sheep Draw area and up north at the Poudre Ponds.
