The Greeley Kids Triathlon will be held this Saturday, August 8 at the Family FunPlex. Come cheer on the kids or bring your own to compete in the fun event.

The Greeley Kids Triathlon starts at 8:00 a.m. sharp this Saturday with a mandatory meeting for all participants at 7:45 a.m. at the Family FunPlex located at 1501 65th Avenue in Greeley.

The event is open for kids 6-12 years old that will be compete in the three traditional triathlon events: swimming, bike and then finish with a run. Registration is $35 which includes a t-shirt, kids 5 and under are free and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Youth Assistance Program, a scholarship program offered through the Culture, Parks and Recreation Department.

The registration deadline is this Friday, August 7 at 5:00 p.m.

Age groups include:

  • 5 and under (25-yard assisted swim, 100-yard bike ride, and 50-yard run)
  • 6-8 years (50-yard swim, 2-mile bike ride and 3/4-mile run)
  • 9-10 years (100-yard swim, 3-mile bike, 1-mile run)
  • 11-12 years (200-yard swim, 3-mile bike and 1-mile run)

All participants are required to bring a swimming suit, bike and bike helmet, water and comfortable shoes to run in. Helmets are not an option and all bikes will have a safety check done on them by the staff of the Bike Peddler.
