A 22-year-old Fort Collins man died after a 30 foot fall in Rocky Mountain National Park. He fell while climbing Batman Pinnacle on Lumpy Ridge. People on scene started CPR, but he didn’t respond.

Severe thunderstorms kept rangers from recovering his body Thursday night. They planned to stay at the scene overnight and resume recovery efforts this morning. Park officials say the man was from New Jersey but was living in Fort Collins.

The approach to Batman Pinnacle and Lightning Rock formations will be closed until recovery efforts are complete.
