Every day is a new opportunity to create a new result. Each day when we wake we have a blank canvas to write on. I like to think of it as a fresh batch of wet cement. I look at each day as if it has just been poured and it is up to me how I want it to dry.

My job each day is to tend to the cement of the day. I can keep my eye on it all day and make it as smooth as I want or I can put a few hand prints in it and make it my own. Some days I rope it off and keep it all smooth with no bumps or cracks and other days I can't keep people from running and driving their bikes through it and making it an unusable mess. The cool thing is that no matter what happens to it today, I will get a fresh batch tomorrow to try again. I know that when we lay concrete at the house we like to put our hand-prints in it to mark it as ours. I like to leave a little hand print on each day.

Get up, get out there and leave your mark on your day before everyone else gets in your cement and messes it up. There is a fresh batch waiting for you each and every day so if you mess up, don't sweat it, tomorrow brings a new load and new chance to smooth it all out. Get out there and put your hands in the cement of the day.
