Celebrate Our Veterans - Living History Event

Sunday, May 27th Beginning at 9 a.m.

Veteran's Plaza (Spring Canyon Park in Fort Collins)

  • 10:30 - Band Beentheredonethat –rock and roll 60’s and 70’s
  • Fort Collins Library – arts and crafts for kids
  • Blackhawk helicopter displayed
  • Vintage military vehicles displayed
  • Re-enactors – Revolutionary War, Civil War, Buffalo Soldiers, WWII, Vietnam

Ceremony at noon

  • Flag ceremony
  • Staff Sergeant John Jones, USMC is keynote. Speaks to veterans sacrifice
  • Awarding Purple Heart to CPL Bob Wuestenberg, Army, Vietnam Vet. He did not receive his medal when wounded in the war
  • Major General H. Michael Edwards, the Adjutant General for Colorado National Guard will speak and present medal to Wuestenberg
  • 1:00 Boltz Middle School Orchestra will play piece written by one of the students to honor our veterans
  • 1:30 Veterans from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and present day will speak and interact with audience
  • 1:30 Music from Beentheredonethat

CSU Veterans 5k Fun Run

Starts at Hughes Stadium at 9:00 am and ends at the Plaza

Parking and shuttle at Hughes Stadium
