Celebrate Our Veterans - Living History Event
Sunday, May 27th Beginning at 9 a.m.
Veteran's Plaza (Spring Canyon Park in Fort Collins)
- 10:30 - Band Beentheredonethat –rock and roll 60’s and 70’s
- Fort Collins Library – arts and crafts for kids
- Blackhawk helicopter displayed
- Vintage military vehicles displayed
- Re-enactors – Revolutionary War, Civil War, Buffalo Soldiers, WWII, Vietnam
Ceremony at noon
- Flag ceremony
- Staff Sergeant John Jones, USMC is keynote. Speaks to veterans sacrifice
- Awarding Purple Heart to CPL Bob Wuestenberg, Army, Vietnam Vet. He did not receive his medal when wounded in the war
- Major General H. Michael Edwards, the Adjutant General for Colorado National Guard will speak and present medal to Wuestenberg
- 1:00 Boltz Middle School Orchestra will play piece written by one of the students to honor our veterans
- 1:30 Veterans from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and present day will speak and interact with audience
- 1:30 Music from Beentheredonethat
