Raising money for cancer through endurance and performance golf is the purpose of "Pars With Purpose", taking place on Tuesday, October 29th.
Ptarmigan Country Club is hosting this local nonprofit event and will support two Fort Collins residents entering the event.
Mike Ball and Doug Larson will attempt to play as many holes of golf as they can during the day in order to help fight cancer.
They will be seeking flat donations for their efforts or pledges based on the number of pars, birdies, and eagles they are able to make throughout the day. The money raised will go to:
- RamStrength, a Northern Colorado nonprofit that provides financial assistance for cancer patients and survivors.
- Collins Ferris, a Fort Collins native and designer at Everitt & Schilling Co. who is currently undergoing a second bone marrow transplant for a rare form of leukemia.
A post-event celebration for donors, players, and beneficiaries will be held at 6 p.m. at the Ptarmigan Clubhouse.
