Additional Information

The Northern Colorado chapter of the Epicenter of Chiropractic (EPOC) have procured the public viewing rights for the documentary “Doctored” and are planning a public viewing at the Rialto in Loveland on February 25th, 2013, starting at 6:30pm and will include a special introduction by the film’s producer, Jeff Hays. The Next Door restaurant adjacent to the Rialto will be hosting an after-party for all attendees.

"Doctored" is director Bobby Sheehan and producer Jeff Hays' entry into the emerging genre of health focused feature documentaries and follows both patients and health care providers struggling within a broken health care system. The movie begins with the AMA's attack on their non-drug providing rivals, the chiropractic profession. Interviews and historical footage expose the AMA's clandestine campaign to eliminate chiropractic services. Sheehan uses this story, along with several others, to show that almost all areas of Western healthcare have been "doctored" to benefit the medical and pharmaceutical interests.

The film also features success stories from world-class athletes, interviews with a wide variety doctors and researchers, as well as stories of normal, everyday people fighting to do what’s right and having to choose between the drug-based standard of care or a healthier, less accepted, alternative. Sheehan sheds light on this "doctored" system and opens a conversation on real solutions.

Doctored has premiered in larger metropolitan areas but this is the first public showing of the film in Colorado. “This is a perfect opportunity to advocate for the people of Northern Colorado,” said Dr. Brian Flemming, President of the NoCo EPOC chapter. “There are really good reasons to attend this film. People need to understand the healthcare landscape to make the best decisions for themselves and their family. This film demonstrates the validity of chiropractic as a viable alternative.”

This event is open to the public. Tickets are available through participating local doctors or by calling 970.226.6556.
