The Sexual Assault Victim Advocate (SAVA) Center is celebrating its longstanding service to Northern Colorado at the SAVA Soiree on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Loveland.

The keynote speaker at the 2015 SAVA Soiree will be Diane Woomer. Diane is a 2014 recipient of the Florence Nightingale Luminary Award for Excellence in Nursing in her district of Colorado. Even with many years’ experience as a registered nurse, there was no way to prepare for the call she received in 2012. Her daughter was badly injured and required immediate surgery. Diane’s daughter nearly lost her life as a result of the injuries sustained during a sexual assault. Since that time, Diane has been a tireless advocate for justice as she has worked to ensure that victims have more support throughout the criminal justice process and better access to medical treatment after an assault.
