I-25, U.S. Highway 34, and all ramps at the interchange are now open following a fuel tanker truck crash, explosion, and fire last night around 9:30pm. The Colorado Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.

The tanker ignited just after 9 p.m. Sunday on the east side of the interchange, just east of the off-ramp from northbound Interstate 25 to eastbound U.S. 34.

No word has been released about the condition of the driver.

Flames and smoke were visible from all directions, with the thick, black smoke visible by the light of the full moon.

According to a 1:20 a.m. press release from the Loveland Police Department, "The fire was just recently extinguished and the Colorado State Patrol is beginning the investigation of the crash. We do not yet know the cause of the crash. We have no information to release regarding the driver and do not know if there were any passengers."
