Samantha Orr lost her mother, Jennifer Orr, August 7 when their vehicle slid off the edge of a mountain road west of Pueblo and plunged 600 feet down an incline. Samantha saw her year-old goldendoodle Bentley fly out of the vehicle and disappear into the mountains. She returned to the crash scene as soon as she was released from the hospital.
On Thursday, Aug. 24, Samantha heard from stranger Joseph Stratmann from northern Colorado. He told her he saw Bentley near where he went missing, according to a Facebook post. Stratmann had been looking for Bentley after he saw a missing dog ad on Craigslist, and he even left dog food out for the puppy. Then Saturday Samantha and Bentley were reunited in a tearfully happy ending to a tragic story.
