I was a huge fan of the Kentucky Headhunters. They burst onto the scene in the early 90's and were the CMA vocal group of the year in 1990 and 91 and were as big as any act in the format. They are still rocking today but without the voice of Ricky Lee Phelps. Ricky turns 61 today and left the band back in 92 to form the duo Brother Phelps. They recorded two albums before splitting.

The debut from the Headhunters is still one of my favorite albums of all time. Here is a little tribute to one of my all time favorite bands. Happy Birthday Ricky. Wish you all could have stayed together. You made some great music but the remaining members are still rocking strong and well.
