We won't have to wait to see if Wes Welker will play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. The NFL today suspended Welker for four games.

ESPN has reported that Wes Welker has been suspended by the NFL, four games, for the use of amphetamines. What type or kind was not announced but it looks like the Bronco's won't have to worry about him getting his 4th concussion within a year this Sunday.

He appealed his case in late August and today was judgement day.

Welker's status for the season opener was already in question and this might be a blessing in disguise for Welker Either way...this is a good thing for him and a Super Bowl ring just isn't worth what he is already going to have to deal with 10, 20 and 30 years down the road.

In my opinion, he should call it quits, retire and try and live out a healthy life, if that's possible at this point.

Amphetamines are potent central nervous system stimulants of the phenethylamine class that is used in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and narcolepsy. It is a schedule II drug.
