Demolition of Sears Store Underway at Foothills Mall in Fort Collins [PICTURES]

The rejuvenation of Foothills Mall in Fort Collins has begun. Before major construction can be finished, some demolition must be completed first. That includes the leveling of the Sears store, which finally agreed to relocate after negotiations with the mall's new owners and the City of Fort Collins.

The only buildings left to be demolished are the Ross and Chico’s stores, which are not part of the main mall. Those buildings will be torn down when their replacements are built in the first part of 2016.

Some stores have remained open during the re-construction of the mall, including Macy's. I took a few pictures of the progress, including the rubble that was once Sears.
