Dairy Queen on College Avenue in Fort Collins is Not Closing For the Season
For as long as I can remember the Dairy Queen on College Avenue has closed every winter. That is not happening this year. They are staying open all-year-long for the second year in-a-row. That is great news to me. That is bad news for my ice cream belly.
In the past I always had a day of mourning as a blue tarp was pulled up over the windows of the DQ and a sign would go up signaling the store closing for the season. Then around Thanksgiving a Christmas tree lot would usually show up in the parking lot. Why the change? Owner Michelle Chavez told me her employees talked her into it. I would like to take this moment to thank the employees,
I can get a vanilla cone dipped in chocolate whenever I want. I am a happy boy. My wife...not so much. She has another year with a chubby hubby.
