Yesterday, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment released numbers from July. We added 5,500 non-farm jobs last month, continuing 33 straight months of job gains and that puts the unemployment rate in Colorado at 5.3 percent.

The state jobs report released yesterday says Colorado’s jobless rate hasn’t been that low since October 2008. The biggest job gains were in education and health services, construction and professional and business services. The leisure and hospitality areas lost the most jobs.
